Web Style Guide

A guide to using the Wake Forest University template and Content Management System (CMS)

Templates

There are two recommended sidebar options for the overall layout of your site, or just the front page. Those with administrative access can make this change in Appearance > Home Page Layout. It is not recommended that you modify these settings after the site is established. This is a choice to make during the initial building of the site. If you need help with your layout, please contact us.

Left Sidebar Template

This option has left sidebar only. An example of this layout can be seen at the New Students Website.

Left & Right Sidebar Template

This option has a left sidebar and a right sidebar. An example of this layout can be seen at the Humanities Institute.

Home Page Widget Templates

If you have chosen a template with a left sidebar only, there are three recommended choices you have for your Home Page Widget orientation. Widgets can be used to organize your home page content more effectively. Home Page Widgets are optional to use.

Two Equal Widgets with Left Sidebar

An example of this layout can be seen at the Commencement site.

Two Unequal Widgets with Left Sidebar

An example of this layout can be seen at the New Students Website.

Three Widgets with Left Sidebar

An example of this layout can be seen at the Provost Website.

Single Widget with Left and Right Sidebars

If you have chosen a template with a left & right sidebar, this is the only recommended layout for your Home Page Widget orientation. An example of this layout can be seen at the Institute for Public Engagement website.
